Long Overdue....
Some of you may be wondering if I have fallen off the face of "Blog World", but I can assure you that I haven't . As I mentioned in previous post, I am in graduate school, and boy did I really jump into it!! Everyone failed to tell me that taking 9 graduate hours is like 18 undergraduate hours! This semester back has certainly gotten me back into the swing of things, however, I keep thinking to myself to look at the reward in accomplishing this goal. It makes it all worthwhile.
Now on to the baby stats: Baby Bennett is growing faster than I could ever imagine! He/She sure does have some LOOOOONG legs that love practicing field goal kicks or at least thats what I like to imagine :). Zack got to feel the baby kick for the first time Monday night, and was excited to say the least! At the last doctor's appointment the fhb ranged in the 160s. In the last 2 weeks, I have had 2 ultrasounds in an attempt to find out the sex of the baby. It has been very discouraging to say the least. Baby B is not cooperating, is breech, and has his legs crossed! The first time that we had one done, the ultrasound tech was saying that she thinks its a boy, but would not be certain until she could get a picture from its bottom. I have the video recorded and believe as well that it is a boy. We will be happy with whatever; we prayed for a healthy baby and it doesn't matter if it is a boy or girl.

Our Growing Baby
I am officially on "summer break"! However, I'm not sure how much of a break I will be getting. I have a workshop to go to that is going to last 2 weeks from 8 to 4, cheerleading camp in Florida, graduate school, and getting ready for baby Bennett! Today, I had to go take care of some stuff in Columbia and was at the hospital visiting mom and Kinley was there, she said, "Jen, what's your baby doing?" She has gotten where she is asking this question all the time, like I can see inside my stomach or something, gotta love the mind of a child. Anyway, we went back to X-ray where the ultrasound machine was and Kinley got to see what the baby was doing. She loved looking at it, and at one point she said, "It sure is dark in there!" I'm not sure what she was expecting to see, but she got to see the baby jumping, moving its arms and legs, and it was even sucking its thumb. Here are a few pictures from today. (It's not the best photo quality, I am taking a picture of a picture)

Long Awaited
Okay, so I am new to the blogging world and am already a slacker! The last two weeks have been very busy for me. The past week I've had a MAJOR sinus infection so I have been asleep when I wasn't working or eating. Thanks for y wonderful husband nursing me, I seem to be on the downhill and feel much better today. On a brighter note, I have have 31/2 days of school left and then summer break. However, I won't be getting much of a summer break, I am starting graduate school, so wish me luck!
Now on to the baby stats...I went to the doctor on the 6th and he said that everything was on track. He told me to eat, eat, eat (which I have no problem doing now days). The baby's heart rate was 178, the ultrasound tech said that was normal during the first trimester and it would drop at least 20bpm once I get into the second trimester. I have not posted any belly pictures yet, but I promise they are coming soon. It looks like a "pot belly" to me. One of my sweet students said, "Mrs. Bennett...whoa! your baby is getting big, but I still think that you are pretty." Imagine what they will think in August!

What a Week!!
This has been probably one of the most interesting weeks at school. My students brighten my life each day that I work with them. They are truely amazing and I am so lucky to have such a great bunch! So, as many of you know, we are preparing like crazy for the state test coming up. I was working with two of my students that will be taking the test, and the first graders were working on a journal with my assistant. As I go to the garbage can, I glance at my VERY hyperactive student because she was being very quiet and that is not like her. As I am looking at her, I notice that there is blood EVERYWHERE, so what do I do scream! She was not crying or anything until I hollered. I run to grab as many Kleenex as possible. As I gather my thoughts, I asked her what happened, and she said, "I was trying to sharpen my pencil and I stuck my finger in it." So then, I am freaking out more because I can only imagine what it looks like underneath all of the blood. Needless to say, she cut a HUGE chunk of meat out of her index finger, and they wrapped it in a big bandage. She has walked around all week saying "E.T. come home!" Today, we were doing an experiment with magnets and one of the students, who receives speech therapy, kept calling them maggots! I told my assistant great she is going to go home and tell her mom and dad that we played with maggots at school. There is never a dull moment in room 9! Hopefully, we will breeze through tomorrow without anymore accidents.

Not Yet the Size of a Garden Pea
Not yet the size of a garden pea
Sweet little angel what will you be?
A lot like dad or more like mom...
What exactly will you become?
No matter, just BE and get big and strong
Don't hurry to leave your mommy's tum...
You sleep & eat & kick & grow
Nine months will be gone before we know!
This is the most recent picture of the baby taken today 4/22. He/She had a heart rate of 148.
...And Baby Makes 3!!
As many of you know, Zack and I found out about three weeks ago that we are going to have a baby. We are super excited, and can not wait until December 8th to get here!
Baby Bennett's first Picture...5 weeks and microscopic!
